SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE CORE VALUE

Everyone from top management down to the individual craftworker is responsible for creating a safe and productive culture on all our projects. We are committed to providing the best possible working conditions for our workers by continually looking to improve our processes and promote comprehensive safety on all our projects no matter how large or small.

Our Safety Program’s attention to detail and accountability starts with:

1.

THE PROJECT START-UP SAFETY REVIEW

The project team conducts a 44-point review to identify all potential hazards associated with the job. By being pro-active instead of reactive, issues are identified and addressed before they become problems.

2.

THE ORIENTATION PROGRAM

All new hires are required to attend a Safety Orientation at our shop. First impressions are lasting impressions. The expectations are clearly laid out in both English and Spanish when necessary. No one will walk on to your project not knowing what is expected of them.

3.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Site Managers never have to worry if Levy workers are wearing the proper PPE while on their site. Hard hat, safety glasses and gloves are required by all Levy employees working on any of our project sites. This policy is strictly enforced.

4.

DAILY TASK CARD

Each worker or group of workers is required to complete a Task Card prior to starting the work. The card helps the worker re-calibrate his mind towards their task by reviewing material needs, tools and safety equipment required, Hazard Analysis and Controls and a 14-point inspection checklist. Cards are turned in weekly and everyone is reviewed and graded by the Safety Director monthly.

5.

WEEKLY TOOLBOX TALKS

All of our TBTs are handwritten by the Safety Director. This process allows us to tailor the subject to our specific work and concerns.

6.

WEEKLY JOB-SITE INSPECTIONS

The foreman will walk the site each week to inspect the areas our people move through and are working in. Good observations and issues that are identified are documented on the inspection sheet. A copy of the inspection sheet is turned in to the GC superintendent.

7.

BI-WEEKLY SAFETY WALKS

Twice a month our insurance Safety Team conducts walk throughs with our foreman to observe the Levy Company employees in action. Any issues identified are addressed immediately.

8.

MONTHLY SAFETY WALK

Each month the Safety Director will visit the site to perform a site safety walk. The intent is to help point out any safety concerns before they become OSHA issues. The goal is always to help the GC manage their project safely. We feel strongly the more eyes on the project the less likely something is going to get missed. This helps everyone involved achieve a safe and productive outcome.
